The mail slot is one of the most overlooked openings in a home, and one of the most consequential. BOTA was founded on a simple idea: block out the air. The company name says exactly that.

The product that came first was the Mail Slot Insulator. The concept was straightforward. The engineering was not. The engineer who saw it through had a father who was a mail carrier. The Insulator had to solve several problems at once: fit a non-standard cutout where the exterior flap could interfere, expand both horizontally and vertically to accommodate most existing slots, block air, resist moisture, reduce sound transmission, and install without tools. The founder and engineer collaborated over years to get it right. In 2024, that work was recognized with a London Design Awards Gold. The design holds two utility patents.

Many of those principles carried forward. The deeper we looked at the mail slot, the more we saw what the market had never addressed: the slot itself. Designed with intention, from the ground up. The result is the Brass-Seal™ system. Forged from solid brass. Engineered to perform at the level of the finest doors they are set into. Independently tested and proven to seal the opening like it was never there.
